Resident evil 5 trailer brings out racists of every color.

August 1st, 2007 by vermifax

So the new RE5 trailer has hit the net.  And boy did it trip some people’s triggers.

First you’ve got the Black Racists complaining about the white S.T.A.R.S Agent killing black ’supposed’ zombies.

Then of course you have the White Racists over-reacting to the black racists.

Fairly tame discussion going on at Game politics

And of course the retarded article in the Village Voice that started the whole thing.

Can we please round up the Black and White Racists infect them with the T-Virus and then go to town.

Australian Security ‘Experts’ need a smacking.

Apparently the Australian High Tech Crime Center doesn’t know anything about anything regarding terrorists or Warcraft

Perhaps they should hire Unbeliever on a retainer to smack them across the face when they say something as stupid as this

Kevin Zuccato, head of the Australian High Tech Crime Centre in Canberra, says terrorists can gain training in games such as World of Warcraft in a simulated environment, using weapons that are identical to real-world armaments.

Uh-huh. Perhaps this is just a Terrorist cell who can’t afford Warcraft’s $14.95 monthly fee.

“We need to start thinking about living, working and protecting two worlds and two realities,” Zuccato says.

Protecting world of warcraft. Perhaps they’ll arrest all the level 1 speed hackers in Azshara. Perhaps they will arrest gold spammers. No wait they’re looking for terrorists. “Hey, you there lvl 70 rogue what just stabbed that noob in the back….front and center!” I also hear that Engineers can make bombs and dynamite. Now where are they going to get all the Khorium for that rocket launcher in real life.

Intelligence and law enforcement agencies in the US and Australia are so concerned they have established their own reality world games in a bid to gain the same experiences as the virtual terrorists.

Ok so its not just the Ozzies that are brain-dead. Perhaps the author doesn’t know that the military has been experimenting with virtual training since duck hunt. Then again I think may-hap that someone just wants to play their Pally on the governments nickle.

Admittedly virtual worlds based on real places could be used as training grounds.   The thing is no terrorists are getting any kind of real world training in World of Warcraft.  The other thing is, virtual runthroughs have been available long before second life, and are available to be used by terrorists in closed networks that neither the Ozzies nor the Usians have access to.

Time to get smacking Un.

Sharing the blame…..or perhaps we shouldn’t. Parents abdicating control

July 24th, 2007 by vermifax

In a sad turn of affairs,A 14-year old girl was raped near my hometown.   The catch: the rapist met her on Myspace.    Now let me be the first to say that I have entirely avoiding using myspace but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate what MOST people are using it for.    That is to say, a social networking site.

Still, we have moronic people that blame the medium rather than the perp.

Guild Drama aka ‘Why can’t people leave well enough alone’

July 16th, 2007 by vermifax

Taking a page from our resident Kiwi  Unbeliever I felt the need to talk about some recent guild drama.

As this is my first guild drama post (of probably many more to come) bear with me for a little background info.

I am in a guild in World of Warcraft on Tichondrius.  I’m in fact one of the class leads for my class, although I don’t have time to raid as much since my work schedule changed.

We’ve got Kara and Gruul on farm, and are moving beyond into the next instances.

Why do people have to screw it up. Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to Irregardless.org

Yes Ms English, it is a word

Welcome to one and all to my vanity site.

 Why Irregardless?

Did you ever meet one of those insipid people who says things like “That <insert pronouncable combination of letters with an understood meaning> isn’t a word”    I mean thats very nearly the definition of ‘word’.   Oh sure, its ‘nonstandard’ and ‘improper usage’  but not a ‘word’?    Well, if you’ve ever said to yourself “by golly irregardless isn’t a word”   You’re wrong.
